Booking & Getting Started

Give us a call on 01782 52 22 22 or send us an email. Let us know what you need — whether that's an MOT, a service, a repair, or something you're not quite sure about — and we'll get you booked in at a time that suits you. It only takes a couple of minutes.

For routine work like MOTs and servicing, a few days' notice is usually enough. During busy periods we may book up a little further ahead, so it's worth calling sooner rather than later if you have a specific date in mind. For urgent issues like warning lights or unusual noises, give us a call and we'll always do our best to fit you in as quickly as possible.

We work on an appointment basis only so we can make sure we have the right time and resources set aside for your vehicle. That said, if something urgent comes up, give us a call and we'll do what we can to help. We'd rather you rang us than ignored a problem.

Just the basics: your name, contact number, vehicle registration, and a description of what you need doing. If you're coming in for a specific issue, it helps if you can tell us when it started and anything you've noticed (noises, warning lights, changes in how the vehicle feels). The more we know upfront, the better prepared we are when your vehicle arrives.

Yes. We service and repair all makes and models, from everyday family cars to higher-end vehicles. Our technicians are experienced across a wide range of manufacturers, so whatever you drive, we can look after it.

We're open Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00. We're closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

We're based at Tunstall Road, Knypersley, Biddulph, ST8 7BD. There's parking available on site for when you drop off and collect your vehicle.

MOTs

Our MOT is priced at the current standard rate. Give us a call or check our Services page for the latest price. There are no hidden extras — the price we quote is the price you pay for the test itself.

A straightforward MOT typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Most customers drop their vehicle off in the morning and collect it later the same day, but you're welcome to wait if you prefer.

No. You don't need your V5 log book or any other paperwork for an MOT. Just bring your vehicle, your keys, and your contact number so we can reach you during the day.

Yes, you're welcome to wait. We have a seating area at the garage. Alternatively, most customers drop off and collect later in the day — whichever works best for you.

We'll call you to explain exactly what's failed and why. We'll give you a clear price for the work needed to bring it up to standard and you can decide how you'd like to proceed. We never carry out any repair work without your approval first.

That's entirely your choice. If your vehicle fails, you're under no obligation to have the work done with us. We'll give you the failure report and you're free to take it wherever you like. If you do choose to have us carry out the repairs, we'll re-test the vehicle at no extra charge for the items we've fixed.

Yes. You can have your MOT carried out up to a month (minus a day) before the expiry date of your current certificate without losing any time. The new certificate will run from the expiry date of the old one, not from the date of the test. It's worth booking early to avoid any last-minute rush.

Yes, we can send you a reminder when your MOT is due so you never have to worry about it lapsing. Just let us know when you're in and we'll make sure you're on the list.

Servicing

An interim service covers the essential checks and replacements — oil and filter change, fluid top-ups, and a visual safety inspection. It's ideal if you do a high mileage or want a check between full services. A full service is more comprehensive and includes everything in an interim plus additional checks on brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust, and other components. We'll recommend the right one based on your mileage and when you were last serviced.

As a general guide, most vehicles should be serviced once a year or every 10,000–12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Some manufacturers have different intervals, so if you're not sure, give us a call with your make, model, and mileage, and we'll tell you what's recommended.

No. Under UK law (the Block Exemption Regulation), you are entitled to have your vehicle serviced by any qualified garage without affecting your manufacturer warranty, provided the work is carried out to the manufacturer's specification using appropriate parts. We service to manufacturer standards and can stamp your service book to confirm the work has been done.

Yes. We'll stamp your service book and provide a full record of the work carried out, so your service history stays complete and up to date.

Please give us a call to discuss your specific vehicle. The technology in electric and hybrid vehicles is evolving quickly, and we want to make sure we can provide the right level of service for your particular make and model before booking you in.

Repairs & Diagnostics

Yes. We have diagnostic equipment that can read fault codes from your vehicle's onboard computer and help us identify the cause of the warning light. Once we've diagnosed the issue, we'll explain what's going on, what needs to be done, and how much it will cost — all before any work starts.

Absolutely. That's what we're here for. If something doesn't sound right, feel right, or look right, bring it in and let us take a look. You don't need to know what the problem is — just describe what you've noticed and we'll do the rest. No question is too small or too vague.

It depends on the job. Many common repairs — brakes, exhausts, suspension components — are completed the same day. More complex work may take longer, and if we're waiting on a specific part, we'll let you know upfront so you can plan around it. We'll always give you a realistic timescale before we start.

Yes. We carry out a full range of mechanical repairs including brakes, clutches, exhausts, suspension, steering, timing belts, batteries, alternators, and more. If you're not sure whether we cover what you need, just give us a call and ask.

We're happy to take a fresh look. Sometimes a different pair of eyes and a different approach is all it takes. Bring your vehicle in and tell us what's been tried so far — it helps us avoid repeating the same steps and focus on finding the actual cause.

Pricing & Payment

Every job is different, so we can't give a one-size-fits-all price. But we will always give you a clear estimate before we start any work, and we'll tell you if there's any uncertainty about what we might find once we get into the job. You'll never be hit with a surprise bill.

Yes. We'll give you a price or estimate before we begin. For straightforward jobs like servicing and MOTs, we can quote over the phone. For repairs and diagnostics, we may need to see the vehicle first, but we'll always agree the cost with you before we start any work.

We call you. Every time, without exception. If we find something during the work that wasn't part of the original job, we'll explain what we've found, tell you why it matters, and give you the cost. You decide whether to go ahead. No work is ever carried out without your approval.

No. The price we agree with you is the price you pay. We don't add on admin fees, environmental charges, or any other extras. Everything is included in the quote we give you upfront.

We accept cash, debit cards, and credit cards. Payment is due on collection of your vehicle.

We don't currently offer formal payment plans, but if a larger repair is needed and cost is a concern, talk to us. We're always happy to discuss options and help you prioritise what needs doing now versus what can wait a little while.

Parts & Quality

We use quality parts from trusted suppliers. Depending on the job and your vehicle, this may be original equipment (OE) parts from the manufacturer or high-quality aftermarket equivalents that meet or exceed the same standard. We never use cheap, substandard components.

We use both, depending on what's most appropriate for your vehicle and the specific repair. In many cases, aftermarket parts from reputable brands are identical in quality to the manufacturer's own parts but at a better price. If you have a preference for genuine parts, just let us know and we'll source them for you.

We'd prefer to source parts ourselves so we can guarantee their quality and ensure they're correct for your vehicle. If you've already bought parts, give us a call and we can discuss it — but please be aware that we can't offer the same warranty on work carried out with customer-supplied parts.

Yes. We stand behind our work. Parts and labour are guaranteed, and if something isn't right after a repair, bring your vehicle back and we'll put it right. The specific guarantee period depends on the type of work — just ask us at the time and we'll confirm.

During Your Visit

Just your vehicle, your keys (including any locking wheel nut keys if you have them), and your contact number so we can reach you during the day. If you're coming in for a specific issue, it's helpful to note down any details — when it started, what it sounds or feels like, and whether it happens all the time or only in certain conditions.

Yes, you're welcome to wait. We have a seating area where you can sit while we work on your vehicle. For longer jobs, most customers prefer to drop off and come back later — entirely up to you.

Yes. If we find anything unexpected, need to discuss additional work, or if there's any change to the timescale, we'll call you. We won't leave you wondering what's happening. If you haven't heard from us, it usually means everything is going to plan.

We'll give you a call as soon as it's ready. If we gave you an estimated time when you dropped off, we'll stick to it — and if anything changes, we'll let you know before you're left waiting.

After the Work

Always. When you come to collect, we'll talk you through exactly what was done, what was found, and anything you should be aware of going forward. We'll explain it clearly and you're welcome to ask as many questions as you like. We'd rather you drove away fully informed than nodding along politely.

Yes. You'll receive a written report detailing the work we've done, any parts replaced, and any advisories — things that don't need attention now but are worth keeping an eye on. It's a useful record to keep with your vehicle's paperwork.

Call us straight away. If something doesn't feel right after a repair or service, we want to know about it. Bring the vehicle back and we'll check it over. We stand behind our work, and if we've done a job, we'll make sure it's right.

Yes. We keep a full record of all work carried out on your vehicle. This means we can track what's been done, when it was done, and what might need attention in the future. It also means that if you call us with a question about past work, we can pull up your history straight away.

We've been looking after vehicles in the Knypersley & Biddulph area since 2009. Many of our customers have been with us since the beginning, and a good number were recommended by friends or family who already knew us. That long-term trust is something we take seriously and work hard to maintain.

Yes. We are a DVSA-approved MOT testing station, which means we're authorised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency to carry out MOT tests to the required national standard.

Yes. Our technicians are fully qualified and experienced across a wide range of vehicle makes and models. We invest in ongoing training to make sure our team stays current with the latest vehicle technology and diagnostic techniques.

Of course. You can read our reviews on Google, where we're proud to maintain a strong rating from genuine customers. We also collect feedback after every visit through a customer survey, and you can see a selection of that feedback on our Reviews page.

We're always grateful when our customers recommend us to friends and family — it's the biggest compliment we can receive. Speak to us about how we recognise customer loyalty and referrals when you're next in.
