Not every job fits neatly into a category. Whether it's a driveshaft that's clicking, a window that won't go up, or just a bulb that needs replacing — we're happy to help with the small stuff as well as the big stuff.
If you're not sure what's wrong, bring it in and we'll take a look. We'll let you know what we find and give you a price before we do anything.

A new noise, smell or leak
Cars rarely fail silently. A noise that wasn't there last week is the cheapest warning you'll get — describe it to us and we'll tell you how urgent it sounds.
Spots on the driveway
Dark and oily is engine or gearbox oil; bright or sweet-smelling is coolant; slick and clear near a wheel needs checking immediately — that can be brake fluid.
Sluggish starting on cold mornings
A battery announces retirement slowly. Slow cranking in the cold is the classic sign — tested in minutes, replaced before it strands you.
Small jobs stacking up before an MOT
Bulbs, wipers, washers, a door that won't latch — the little jobs are quick for us and each one is an MOT fail waiting otherwise.

What counts as a general repair?
Everything outside scheduled servicing — bulbs, batteries, belts, hoses, leaks, window mechanisms, mirrors, odd noises. If it's on the car and it's not right, it's our kind of job. Ring us and describe it.
Do small jobs need an appointment?
Give us a call first — genuinely small jobs can often be slotted in quickly, and phoning ahead means the right parts are here when you arrive rather than on order.
What do the different fluid leak colours mean?
Dark brown or black: engine or gearbox oil. Bright pink, orange or green with a sweet smell: coolant. Clear and slick, especially near a wheel or the pedals: possibly brake fluid — treat that one as urgent and call before driving far.
Will you show me what was wrong?
Yes. We keep the old parts for you to see if you want them, and we'll walk you through what we found and what we did — plain English, no mystery invoice lines.
